Those of you that may have visited Lanzarote before will know that Playa Blanca is one of the quieter parts of the island but that doesn't mean it lacks character - if anything, it adds to it. So having visited last year I knew I wanted to check out the market on Rubicon Marina again as they sell anything from handmade jewellery to a wide-range of Aloe Vera products. Unfortunately I, or more so the rep got the date wrong so we missed the market and were greeted with empty streets & closed shops but fantastic views. It was actually eerily nice to have the marina almost to ourselves, as it meant I could take nice photos without a single soul spoiling them!
From my hotel it was around €5 each way for a taxi or an hour walk along the promenade - though this was tempting in the sunshine, I just couldn't do it. It really is worth a trip, even just for a couple of hours to enjoy the views and grab a bite to eat in one of the local cafe's. Alternatively if you wanted to rise a little earlier and check out the market, it's on every Wednesday & Saturday from 9am till 2pm. I hear it really comes to life here at night so if you are staying close by, I'd definitely recommend visiting for a few drinks in one of their many bars.
