I was lucky enough to get tickets to see the Athletics at the Olympic Stadium on Friday and I was not prepared for how much I would love it. I have always been a huge fan of sports, especially Athletics having run in 100m, 100m Hurdles, 4X100m Relay and competed in Long & High Jump through 7 years of districts whilst at school, so I was elated when I finally had a chance to visit the Olympic Stadium. Watching the Paralympics was extremely inspiring and at moments I really was speechless. Hearing 80,000 people fall completely silent for the many finals we witnessed that night was unbelievable - as was hearing the whole stadium sing 'God Save The Queen' when Josie Pearson received her gold medal for the F51 Discuss. One of the poster boy's of this year's Paralympics was the one and only Oscar Pistorius and we were fortunate enough to watch him race in the 400m heats and win by far. We saw our Team GB golden boy Richard Whitehead compete in the 100m final but unfortunately he was out of a medal, not being his strongest event. Karl, my brother and I had a fantastic time and it has been a great summer of sport which will go down in history. I feel extremely sad that it is over and am going to miss it dearly, but I just want to say.....''WE DID GOOD LONDON!!!!'
