Barcelona Day Two

After our first incredible day followed by rooftop cocktails at a nearby hotel in the evening (Hotel Pulitzer) I found it hard to wipe the smile of my face the next day. Once we'd wolfed down the best huevos rancheros we coluld find at a small local cafe we set out to explore almost the entire city in one day. Starting with the Arc del Triomf, which gives Paris' a run for it's money with a pathway lined entirely of palm trees up to the big guy. After battling our way through all the selfie-sticks we hopped back on the metro to Sagrada Familia, a truly stunning monument. I came to Barcelona around 13 years ago for a sports tour and I remember the first time I saw it, wide eyed and open mouthed I said 'It looks so old but it's not even finished?'. Now to see it once again and how they are restoring parts of the church which exactly replicate the original construction and it's still not finished - it is one of the world's wonders. We set up camp at a local tapas bar and ate our weight in Patatas Bravas and Calamari while planning our next stop - Park Güell and Casa Batlló.

I have a feeling we will be back Barcelona...
